The Bloodline Blues Band
The name Bloodline comes from not only the current lineup, but also the 18+ year history of the band.
In 1990 after working for some time as the "Chicago Slim Blues Band" backing up local Chicago blues legend Chicago Slim, the time had come to move on. Being led by Dan Noel Sr. (bassist for Chicago Slim for 20+ years) we set out to make our own mark in the local blues scene. Dan Sr. had worked with some of the greatest blues players in Chicago over the years, rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in the business in some of the hippest and funkiest clubs in town. It was time to do it his way.
Bloodline was chosen because,in the beginning,it was truely a "family band",with up to 4 of Dan's sons being in the lineup. Even today, almost all of us are related. Dan Sr. is father to two of us, 1st cousin to one of us, and we have our "adopted" brother Mutz playing Lead guitar for us.
The past 18 years have seen several personnel changes within the group. Brothers have come and gone,(John and Tim have The Black Sheep Blues Band now), Dan Sr and Ma Noel are "snowbirds" now,and some of the best players (and friends) have passed thru the lineup, but we have always kept the family theme within the band.
In 2004 we recorded and released a CD called All In The Family,a 6 song EP featuring vocals by Dan Sr. and son/brother John. Cuts from that can be found in our music section.
We love nothing more than to get out and make some music, play the blues, and have some fun, which comes across in our live shows. We can be found playing local clubs on any given weekend, bike club events, private parties, etc.,and we all love to play the outdoor festivals in the summertime.
